Eastern Kodiaks

Coach Sheehan begins his 3rd Season leading the Kodiaks; looking for a 30+ win campaign that includes a league title and a run to the National Championship.

Coach Sheehan came to the Kodiaks after having coached high school hockey in New Hampshire for twelve seasons; seven as the head coach for Somersworth. He left a successful program with the school’s career records for wins and highest winning percentage. 

Other highlights at Somersworth include;

• Two Division III Players of the Year; 1 other player would go on to win back to back Player of the Year honors before joining the Kodiaks for the upcoming season
• Six players chosen for the New Hampshire Senior Game during his final 5 seasons (Only team in Division III to accomplish this)
• Four players chosen for the Vermont/New Hampshire Make-A-Wish Game during his final 4 seasons (Only team in Division III to accomplish this)
• Two regular season championships, 2005-2006 & 2006-2007
• Division III Coach of the Year, 2006-2007
• Undefeated regular season, 2006-2007        
• Most regular season wins in history of Division III

Coach Sheehan has, since 2002, brought Select Teams to Sweden, Italy and Switzerland to play in international junior hockey tournaments.  Almost half of the more than 100 players have gone on to advance their playing careers.

Coach Sheehan played at Worcester State University and was a member of the 1991-1992 Lancer squad that lost the MASCAC Championship to Salem State College. Professionally, he began his law enforcement career in New Hampshire in 1989 while still in college. After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in History at Worcester State, he attended the full time police academy in 1993, graduating 1^st in his class. Coach Sheehan has a Masters Degree in Education and he currently serves as the Police Chief in nearby Kensington, NH. 

Coach Sheehan lives with his wife Sherrie and their grown children in Dover, NH.
